YA Training for ADULTS

RYA Level 1: Start Sailing – for absolute beginners

RYA Level 2: Basic Skills – for those with Level 1 or equivalent

RYA Level 3: Better Sailing – for those who have completed Level 2

These courses are open to all full sailing members of the club, non members should complete a membership form prior to applying for a placeon a course. Please see the noticeboard in the clubhouse for dates and more information/signing up.

Sailing course fees: a charge of £50 (fifty pounds) per Club Member will be made for all sailing courses. Successful candidates will receive their RYA logbook and pass certificate.

The Powerboat Course is an introduction to driving/handling the Club Rescue Boat. Club members partaking this Course will be expected to do Rescue Boat Duty (instead of any other Club Duty) on 3 or possibly 4 Sundays during the year. They will probably do their first year as Rescue Boat Crew.

The Safety Boat Course is a follow on from Level 2 incorporating Race Management duties, Dinghy Rescue, Windsurfer Rescue, Towing etc. Only Level 2 holders can do this course. Rescue Boat helms are all expected to have this qualification.

There is no charge for either of the powerboat courses for those carrying out duties on behalf of the club.
